It feels like we’ve always had fish in the family. My brother used to catch guppies at the local creek when we were kids. I remember vividly just how excited Alan and I were the Christmas we found our first fish tank under the Christmas tree. We loved it and from there we graduated into the world of more exotic goldfish.
I loved sharing the world of goldfish with my own son and seeing how happy he was looking after his own fish. Gosh, he went through some stages, not only fish. He had hermit crabs that we kept in one of the fish tanks for a while there. It wasn’t unusual for them to make their way out and we even found one making its way downstairs one night. Fun memories! How it did that I don’t know.
A passion for all things aquatic is what we want to share and I hope this site will be a great resource for all who love aquariums and want to look after their fish the best they possibly can. We aim to provide information so that you know how to care for your goldfish and make the best choices for them.
Posts have been regularly published for more than 10 years providing education about goldfish care, filters, feeding, how to diagnose diseases, caring for sick fish, tank and pond maintenance and more. We’ve included tried and tested home treatments for sick fish and other tips that we’ve found helpful.
Serena kicked the site off around 10 years ago and has been a regular contributor.
